Worship

Worship is enhanced by the talents of many volunteers before, during and after services including greeters, ushers, coffee card, readers, Tech/production, music and reset teams.

If you want people to feel included and loved when they enter our church building on Saturday nights or Sunday mornings, the Greeter Ministry is for you! We are always looking for friendly faces to volunteer as greeters ahead of our church services.

This ministry offers the opportunity to use your musical skills (whether singing or playing an instrument) during the contemporary service on Sunday morning.

If you love to sing traditional hymns or ring bells, then this ministry is ideal for you. This is an opportunity to serve in worship Serves and it is also a way to have fellowship and get to know people.

Ever wonder who makes the front of the church so beautiful and who organizes communion?  The Altar Guild does! The Altar Guild takes care of setting up and taking down communion, and also keeps the altar clean and decorated. Currently, each volunteer in this ministry takes one weekend a month, but that changes based on how many volunteers there are.

If you have ever wondered how the camera gets used during the streamed/recorded services this would be a ministry to check out.  This ministry not only involves camera work but also ensures that the visuals on the screen and the sound during the church services are complete.

Production Sound, AV

A cup of coffee is a great way to welcome people into our building. Volunteer for the coffee crew, helping to make sure that the carts are ready for “customers.” Contact the church office to volunteer, or check out the QR code on the cart.

Coffee Cart

Use your public speaking skills by reading Bible lessons for the day during worship services. Sign up for dates that work for you, and receive the texts so you can practice. Contact the church office to be added to the list.

Readers

If you love kids or enjoy welcoming people, please consider volunteering to work in the nursery or to help greet people coming to our Spanish service. Volunteers are currently needed to fill these critical roles.

Spanish Service

We remember the founders of our church by worshiping in the language used at that time - German!  Read a Bible passage in German. You can set up and serve refreshments after the service or clean up.  Attend even if you don’t speak German come enjoy the carols, readings, and traditional German treats and coffee. The event is in mid/late December every year.

Saint Paul is blessed to have buildings which are used to worship, teach, and serve. We maintain these facilities to enable us to continue our outreach.

Volunteers meet every Monday to count offerings received in worship plates and also meet for special services like Easter and Christmas.  This is an opportunity for fellowship since people count as a team.

Counters

This ministry works on ways to allow children and young families to have a better worship experience. Busy bags, kids bibles, stickers, seek and find and other events help to make church a fun experience. We love the joyful sounds of children in worship.

Are you good at organizing and interested in history? The Archives Ministry maintains all church records, keeps a running history of the church, collects photos (and makes fabulous displays in the church lobby!), and organizes everything that needs to be saved. They also research questions and act as a resource for individuals who need information. This ministry runs year-round and the time commitment is generally 1-2 times a month for a few hours.  Some projects can be done at home.

Archives

This ministry is responsible for maintaining all aspects of the St. Paul cemetery in Mount Prospect.  A volunteer needs to be organized and caring to effectively handle the burial process for grieving families.

To enable ministries, missions and to develop connections within our congregation various fund events are planned to raise funds while having fund and fellowship

Golf Outing

Calling all golfers! St. Paul has an annual Golf Outing to raise funds for the school. If you have a passion for golf, every year we are in need of extra volunteers to assist with the planning and execution of the event, which is usually held the last Sunday in August.

Did you know we can earn money from everyday purchases? Scrip gift cards and the Raise Right app allow people to buy e-gift cards and plastic gift cards with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Saint Paul. One volunteer coordinator manages communication and helps distribute orders.

Cross Walk

Crosswalk is Sunday morning Bible education for kids ages 3-grade 5. We have fun, learn about God and His love for us, and grow together as a group.

KIDS TIME

Volunteer to help supervise children ages 2- grade 2 as they leave the worship service during the sermon each Sunday. Volunteers are background checked and scheduled according to their availability. Contact Dari Hartmann at the church office to get connected to this ministry.

VBS

Vacation BIble School at Saint Paul! We love meeting mornings for a week in June to celebrate God and His love. Our volunteer boards support our church and school staff leaders. They set policy, oversee finances and facilities and ensure that the church operations run smoothly to support our mission and ministries.

Finance

The Finance Board keeps an eye on the financial side of things.  You would be a great person to join this ministry if you have a strong desire to be active in the church, but also have an interest and skill in business and finance.  Organization, open-mindedness, and ability to work on a team is key! The Finance board meets at least monthly all during the year. BOD members are elected by the congregation and serve for 2 year terms- they can serve for up to 6 years.

Elders

The Board of Elders (BOD) oversees the spiritual development and life of the congregation. The board has oversight of the Pastors. An elder is on duty at every service.

Parish School Ministry

Parish School Ministry is the “school board” of the school. Our goal is to help and support the principal and staff. We also set tuition and help with the parent school handbook, we monitor enrollment numbers, review curriculum changes presented by staff, and other ad hoc things as needed.
