Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt that combines the use of a hand held GPS unit and the outdoors. We input satellite coordinates into a GPS unit and navigate to a cache location. Our geocaching club, which meets in late spring, is involved in hiding and seeking hidden containers, called caches, around school and the surrounding neighborhood. We also seek caches hidden by other local geocachers. Caches are in everyday places that you cannot see unless you know you the coordinates and spend a little time looking. Some caches are large containers with treasures (trinkets, bouncey balls, toy cars, etc.) and some are very small, about the size of a pen cap. The fun is in the finding!
