Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the real difference between a Saint Paul education and the education my child can get at my local public school?
A: We are fortunate to have local communities with public schools that do a great job educating our children. So does Saint Paul. The real difference is our environment. Saint Paul offers a warm, loving, caring environment with Christian standards. Expectations with regard to proper respect for oneself, classmates, teachers, staff and our Lord are continuously reinforced. Character has always counted at Saint Paul.

Q: Does Saint Paul have the same quality teaching staff as my local public school?
A: Saint Paul is fully accredited by both the State of Illinois and the National Lutheran School Accreditation Commission. The staff at Saint Paul is one of our strengths. Our teachers view their work as more than just a job. They are truly gifted individuals who will love your child and do their very best to adapt their teaching style to fit your child’s learning style. Our teachers have high moral standards and will serve as fine examples for your child.

Q: Will my child have the same opportunities available to them at Saint Paul as they would in my local public school?
A: With respect to academics, Saint Paul offers enrichment for the gifted child as well as remediation to help the child that struggles.Saint Paul offers foreign language instruction, computer lab, athletics, band, choir, scouting, Lego League and a number of other extra curricular opportunities for our children.

Q: Will my child be sheltered at Saint Paul and therefore find it difficult to adapt to the “real world”?
A: At Saint Paul, we strive to protect children from the moral decline we witness at times in the world around us. Our society is putting more and more pressure on our children by forcing them to deal with information and situations at a younger and younger age. While we don’t believe in promoting a “sheltered” environment, we do our best to try to protect children from material and information that they may be too young to handle and discourage behavior that is not age appropriate. We try to let children be children while building skills and knowledge to help them make wise decisions in the real world.

Q: Why does my child need a Christian education to be a good Christian?
A: We went to public school and we are good Christians. Saint Paul exists to support parents as they raise their children in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and His love. Our parents find great joy in knowing that the Christian values and principles that they teach at home are being supported and applied to the lives of their children here at Saint Paul.

Q: Why should I pay for a Christian Education?
A: Providing a Christian education for your children certainly involves a financial sacrifice. At Saint Paul, we believe the sacrifice is well worth making.
