Welcome to Saint Paul Lutheran Church! For over 100 years, Saint Paul has been a part of the fabric of Mount Prospect. We have changed from a little Lutheran church surrounded by farms to a neighborhood church next to the heart of downtown Mount Prospect. We used to have German services, and now we have services in English and Spanish. The humble beginnings of our school have grown into a thriving, vibrant school that prepares students to flourish academically and spiritually. We’ve kept the ancient traditions and truth of our Christian heritage but continue to make it relevant to today.  Through all this change, one thing has remained the same: Saint Paul is a place where you will find Jesus. Or, maybe better said: it’s a place where He will find you.

Jesus is at the center of everything we do. His grace brings us peace and freedom. His call to serve others brings satisfaction and purpose. His community creates deep and meaningful friendships. The roots of Saint Paul Lutheran Church & School are an integral part of early Mount Prospect area history. Five years before the village was incorporated, the congregation was organized with seventeen families signing the constitution on July 7, 1912 with a heart to reach the community with the love of Jesus. The Rev. J.E.A. Mueller was installed as founding pastor in January 1913. Eight days after his installation, he gathered the children of the new church community together in a cottage on Main Street and thus began Saint Paul Lutheran School. Since that time the school has continued to provide a quality Christian education for families of our community with incredible excellence. After 100 years much has changed as the Lord has blessed Saint Paul Lutheran Church to grow from seventeen families in 1912 to over 1,400 active family members today!

Our Mission

A real Church is not a building but rather is a community where real people can go to find real answers for the real world. Saint Paul Lutheran Church & School of Mount Prospect is filled with real people finding a real sense of community in the eternal truth and love of Jesus Christ. That’s the essence of what our motto “Growing as Family” is all about!

Our “Growing as Family” motto and ministry mission statement is based on Saint Paul’s inspired prayer for God’s family, the church:
